About Us

Honey Hole (hon.ey hol) is slang for a location that yields a valued commodity or resource. It could be a particular spot where conditions are ideal for locating extraordinary treasure.

BACK STORY

All-Star Sports Collectibles has been in Escondido, CA for over 20 years, and we had been venturing into this store for the last several years. We nicknamed it the “honey hole” because you never knew what kind of treasure you would find there. It was stacked floor to ceiling with sports cards and memorabilia. We would talk about how great it would be to spend a day in there just digging around to see what was under all the piles of stuff. It was that desire to go on the ultimate treasure hunt that pushed us to purchase the shop. The shop became a big pack of baseball cards that us two kids could not wait to open.

How It Started

Honey Hole Collectibles started as a fun idea between two friends who happened to be sports card collectors. We would constantly talk about cool finds and how awesome it would be to own our own sports card shop. Fast forward those simple conversations a couple of years, and we are now running a full-service card shop in sunny southern California.

Why We Keep Going

The sports card industry is estimated to do tens of billions in revenue annually, with new collectors finding the passion each day. Our goal was to create a shop that services all levels of collectors, focusing on the customer experience through an environment that welcomes conversations and education for and from all collectors. Simply put, if you are passionate about sports cards and collectibles, then this is the place for you!

Amazing staff everyone is always so helpful. Sometimes I go in with my husband.. sometimes I go in to buy a gift for my husband and they always direct me as I have no knowledge of cards what so ever. They occasionally throw in a few sleeves/covers for free and that's always a perk. We shop here monthly at least.

The best shop with the nicest and most helpful staff. Great with kids and amazing at helping us adults understand what we are looking at. Also, they have an amazing selection of nostalgic sports memorabilia!

My son and husband have recently started collecting and trading sports and Pokémon cards and absolutely love coming here. They definitely have the best selection of graded Pokémon cards around town. The guys working are always helpful and have spent plenty of time helping my son look up prices for this cards. It's clean and well organized.

My husband and I frequent Honey Hole at least 3-4 times a month since we got into baseball cards this year. We use their onsite grading service often. Matt and Max, who run this location, are knowledgeable and genuinely friendly guys. We've stopped by the Escondido location and have also had great experiences with the staff there.
